The show is fully produced and ready for air-play. Show includes interviews with authors and many other "former" drunks who have turned their life around using some of the simple startegies that Mark speaks about. Caller interaction and email questions are answered. Entertaining, humorous, informative, thought provoking and unconventional.
Show outline and uniqueness to the competition:
One hour show based on the successful book: Living Sober Sucks (but living drunk sucks more).
Most recovery shows are strictly religious based, 12-step system programs. Living Sober Sucks is a welcome alternative to the conventional system of controlling alcohol addiction. This show is honest and raw without giving the listener false hopes and expectations. It gives tangible and real-life examples of how to eliminate guilt, rebuild self-esteem, discover creativity, repair damaged relationships and overcome the stigma of being a “recovered alcoholic.”
Getting sober is easy – living sober and maintaining sobriety is the hard part. Living Sober Sucks explores and describes a different way to approach maintaining sobriety.
The show includes listener calls and questions, interviews with other authors, professionals and successful reinvented alcoholics.
Social mission of show:
Promote open dialogue and discuss ways of living sober. To empower the listener to take control of their own sobriety so they can enjoy a normal, fully engaged life. Help problem drinkers discover their own sense of willpower and be proud of what they are able to accomplish for themselves.
The audience:
It is estimated that there are more than twenty million alcoholics in the United State. I have identified four distinct listener groups for this show. Be it good or bad, none of these groups are an endangered species.
The Host:
Mark A. Tuschel is the author of Living Sober Sucks (but living drunk sucks more). He is a PhD – Previously heavy Drinker. Mark has over 4-3/4 years of sobriety without a relapse. He has experienced the struggles of sobriety. He is not a prohibition lunatic; he openly admits he misses his old friend alcohol. He realizes that his drunken lifestyle was completely his own choice and drinking will not improve his life or his chances for a better future. Accepting this precept is why he chooses to remain sober. He has counseled and worked with hundreds of other recovering alcoholics.
Mark has been involved in radio broadcast for over 20 years. Starting as an on-air DJ in Milwaukee, WI., then producing comedy for All-Star Radio, ACN (American Comedy Network), ESPN Radio, Animal Radio Network and more. He currently performs cartoon character voice work from his home studio. He is also the author of The Malingerer’s Handbook, along with being the founder and author of the website www.FreeDivorceSupportForMen.com
